Peanut butter lovers take note! This is the most delicious PB&J you will ever eat. Fresh, homemade Peanut Butter Bread sliced hot from the oven and spread with your favorite jelly. It just doesn’t get any better than this!
1 Tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
Turbinado sugar (or granulated sugar)
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cups whole milk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
6 eggs, room temperature
Favorite jam or jelly
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat the inside of two 9×5-inch loaf pans with 1 Tbsp. butter; sprinkle generously with turbinado sugar (or granulated sugar).
In medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In measuring cup, combine milk and vanilla and set aside.
In large mixing bowl or standing mixer, cream together peanut butter, 1 stick softened butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar on medium-high speed until thoroughly combined, about 5 minutes.
Add eggs to creamed mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Alternately, add flour and milk to creamed mixture, beating at low speed after each addition. Mix just until combined, scraping down sides of bowl as needed.
Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 50 minutes then sprinkle additional turbinado sugar on top of loafs. Loosely tent with foil if tops are getting too brown.
Return to oven; bake additional 10-15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let loaves rest in pans on wire rack for 20 minutes, then remove from pans.
To serve, slice to desired thickness and spread with favorite jelly. Place second slice of bread over jelly to create sandwich. Slice in half and serve with cold glass of milk or favorite hot beverage.
