1/2 large onion
4 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup molasses
1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
1/2 Tbsp. salt
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 tsp. liquid smoke
1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce, or to taste
2 Tbsp. Jack Daniels Bourbon,or to taste
In 3-quart saucepan, combine onion, garlic and bourbon. Simmer over medium-low heat until onions are translucent, about 10 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients and increase heat to medium-high. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium. Simmer 20 minutes to reduce, stirring occasionally. Strain sauce before serving.
